Weather and Climate in the Ebro Delta
The climate, being a delta, a stretch of land surrounded by sea, the variations in temperature are minimal with a high humidity. The strong gusts of wind that originate from the Atlantic depressions along the Ebro valley are frequent during the months of November to April from the NW at times warm and not humid. This is known in the Delta as "Vent de dalt". During the rest of the year the winds are charectaristicly known as "Marinados" produced by a greated warming of the earth with respect to the sea. The humid wind, responsible for the main part of the rainfall in the Delta comes from levante "llevant"
Rainfall varies greatly from year to year. The average for the yeras between 1880-1979 was 536 mm. anually,. Generally y from September to November and April to June has stronger rain with the rest of the year being absolutely dry.
